This is baby boy #1! When Lita, our Carolina Dog, had puppies in June of '08, they were
about one pound, give or take an ounce or two, at birth. These little guys were only about five
ounces, less than half the size of Lita's kids. Actually, baby boy #1 was born in the crate that
Jingle sleeps in every night beside Tina's side of the bed. She was very unhappy being left in
the whelping box in our closet, so, just to humor her, and to hopefully get some sleep, we put
her back in her normal night spot. Within an hour or so of turning the lights out, we were
awaken by Jingle giving birth to #1. I quickly picked him up, while Tina led Jingle to the
whelping box, and within seconds, we had #1 breathing, cleaned up and feeding on Jingle.
