Jingle and Hagen's family

January 2nd, 2011:  Jingle gave birth to four magnificent baby boys,
two before midnight and two after, beginning on December 19th.
Two have the 19th for their birthday and two the 20th.  Turning two
weeks old tonight around midnight, the kids are just beginning to
open their eyes, and are already becoming quite vocal.  Below are a
few shots of Jingle and the boys.
The kids are growing like those weeds we always hear grow so
quickly, and the more they grow, the more wild they get at feeding
time.  I really think, after only two weeks, Jingle's ready to get to that
"weaning" thing she was told of.  She's a good mom, though, but
does enjoy her time out of the whelping box.

From day one, she hasn't minded us touching her kids, well, that
first day she growled at Tina, but was okay with her after that.  I was
in the box with her helping her with birthing, so I guess she trusted
me right off the bat.  But she will NOT allow our other, very curious,
dogs anywhere near our walk-in closet.

These next pictures were taken at their one week weigh-in, where
they all more than doubled their birth weight.
These pictures are at the kids' official two week weigh-in.  They're gaining
weight at a rapid pace now, wearing Jingle out.  But she remains an
amazingly good mom.
The holiday crazy season is over now and things are winding down; the next
two or three months will be at a slower pace.  Having some extra time now to
relax a little, we put our minds together and came up with names for Jingle's
kids.  We decided we would go with, since they are "singing dogs",
music-related names.  So baby boy #1 is now Lyric; baby boy #2 is Zildjian;
baby boy #3 is Piccolo; and baby boy #4 is Banjo.  Oh, in case you've never
heard of the word Zildjian, they make the cymbals most bands use.  When
we name dogs, we try to pick names you don't hear every day, and with
Zildjian, I think we've found one.

I'm sure when they go to their new homes their new families will pick out
names that are special to them, but this will give us something to call them
besides their birth order.
